Construction of the paper variety

I've started to put my invitation packs together. When I was ordering the stationery, I felt it an unnecessary expense to order printed envelopes, but now that I'm having to write them all by hand, I'm wishing I'd at least got some labels! Though, now I remember the other reason for not ordering them is cos the RSVPs will go to me, my parents or my PIL2B, depending on who's doing the inviting.

I was going to make stationery wraps for the packs out of washi tape, but I think that's too fiddly and won't hold the packs that neatly together, since the fung bao and RSVPs dimensions are not in the same ratio as the invitation.

Since washi tape is essentially masking tape, the glue isn't super sticky, so I've just used the tape to hold all the inserts together. Here are a few pics:

Got some stamps today, but in relax mode, so will be doing the packs over the coming days :)

Darn Typo :(

The stationery arrived a couple of weeks ago. I was really happy about them until I found a typo on the RSVPs. See you if you can spot it:

If you haven't spotted it, the vegetarian starter should read "Blue Cheese & Red Onion Tartlet" not "Blue Cheese & Red Onion Tarlet".

H2B and FoB think it's not a big deal and that we should just use them. I'm not happy about it - I'm usually very good at spotting typos as (a small) part of my job! To replace the RSVPs would cost about £20 and at least two weeks lead time.

I've thought about this for the past couple of weeks and come to a very non-bridezilla decision: whilst it's a low cost to replace them, we're going to use them anyway, because:
  1. Typo is not essential info on the invitation; e.g. the date or location
  2. It is still understandable what the dish is
  3. The RSVP is the part that gets returned to us
  4. Twenty pounds can be used more usefully elsewhere
  5. The RSVP Date is Friday 29th July 2011 and that's already on the invitation and counting down!
So keep an eye out on your postbox peeps! x
