Gong Hei Fat Choi

Happy New Year my lovelies! This year is the year of the snake - mine and DH's year. Tonight I'll be going out for big meal with my family in our favourite local Chinese resto, Mandarin Palace. We usually order off menu and the owner is lovely lady.

So in honour of Chinese New Year, I painted my nails red with gold and black accents. These pics are the first ones I've posted, using my new light box set up. What do you think?

Base Coat: Duri Rejuvacote
Base Colour: Nails Inc Victoria and Albert
Gold Accent: Barry M Foil Effects 320
Left Ring Finger: OPI Liquid Sand The Impossible from the Mariah Carey Collection
Left Index Finger and Right Ring Finger: 2mm black rhinestones from Born Pretty
Top Coat: Seche Vite

rhinestones feel fun
I really like the texture of the rhinestones on my index finger :D

Unfortunately, the star on my left ring finger came off last night - not unusual with a matte finish polish. So I reapplied The Impossible, fishing out a couple of stars. Then I added a coat of Gelous, followed by OPI Man with the Golden Gun and Seche Vite. This smoothed out the sand effect of The Impossible, but see how pretty it is? And who doesn't like a bit of 18k gold on their finger? ;)

sparkly goodness
